FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers and Advice for 7/4/15

Below are my FanDuel lineup picks for Saturday, July 4th. My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try to choose players who will outperform their expectations. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value on FanDuel. Additionally, since the weekends generally have many afternoon and night games, I’ll make an effort to distribute my picks to cover all the timeslots going forward so that if you are playing an afternoon/night only league this article will still be useful.

Daily fantasy baseball leagues (DFS) are becoming the thing to do, and here at RotoBaller we are excited to help our users build their bankrolls. I’ll be covering FanDuel lineup picks, sleepers and general advice every Saturday and Sunday. I’ll also be putting my money where my mouth is by entering my final lineup (at the bottom of the article) into one of FanDuel’s many daily fantasy contests, so that RotoBaller users can compete against me.

Editor’s Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings – they’re hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It’s FREE to enter and pays out $100,000 in cash prizes! Sign up Now and we’ll give you free access to RotoBaller’s Premium DFS Lineup Picks and Tools (a $29.99 value). You’ll also receive a 100% bonus on your first DraftKings deposit.

Last Saturday’s Review

Entry: $1

Winnings: $0

Saturdays For the Season: +$5.68

Pick Highlights: Well, not too bad on the pitching choice last week as Garrett Richards racked up 15.66 points at a reasonable price. Everything else though was embarrassingly bad. I didn't heed my own advice and check my lineups before the games started, which resulted in a slate of weather cancellations for my team. Not good.

Relationship Status: “Starting to lose patience”

DFS Starting Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel

Zack Greinke (SP, LAD) - $11,500

Greinke is a stud in any matchup, but pitching against the Met's is a dream situation right now. As of this writing, the Mets have scored only two runs in their past 4 games. Mets fans literally exploded on twitter (sarcastically) when the team finally pushed across a run in the Cubs series after back-to-back shutouts. The only downside here is Greinke is pitching against Matt Harvey, so a win may be tougher to come by than usual.

Alex Wood (SP, ATL) - $8,400

Wood doesn't have great numbers traditionally against the Phillies, but these Phillies aren't your fathers Phils. This is purely a matchup play trying to pick up an easy 4 extra points by getting the win over a lesser squad.

DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel

Edwin Encarnacion (1B, TOR) - $4,100

Encarnacion finally is picking it up in the batting average department, hitting .303 in June. We know the power is there, so the price tag seems reasonable here. Additionally he faces David Price tomorrow, which seems like a difficult matchup on the surface, but Encarnacion has 3 career homes against Price.

Joe Mauer (1B, MIN) - $2,600

Mauer has a cool .407 average in 27 at-bats against Joe Blanton. I'm taking the cheap price and banking on the history here.

Adrian Beltre (3B, TEX) - $2,600

Players are always undervalued in daily leagues when they first come back from injury, and Beltre is no different. I'm banking on the future HOF'er to be able to figure things out at the plate pretty quickly and provide good value here.

DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel

Jose Bautista (OF, TOR) - $4,900

See Edwin Encarnacion, except even more success...5 career homers off Price.

A.J. Pollock (OF, ARI) - $3,900

Pollock is averaging three points per game in FanDuel, tying him for the #2 option behind Mike Trout in the late games. He's at home today where he is hitting .303 this season.

Lorenzo Cain (OF, KC) - $3,200

The price point is too good for a guy that averages three points per game. Cain is tied with Pollock as the #2 points per game option on the late slate.

FanDuel Sleeper Value of the Day

Kelly Johnson (OF, ATL) - $2,200

I don't think I've even considered using Kelly Johnson once this year, but then I did some digging and saw he has fie career home runs in 30 at-bats against opposing pitcher Kevin Correia. That's an incredible history that I have to lean on today.

My DFS Lineup on FanDuel

Today I’ll be playing in $15K MLB Sac Fly (late) game today. Remember to check your lineups throughout the day. You never want to get a goose egg for a guy that didn’t play.
