Another week of NFL games, another week of injury situations to try and unravel. As we look towards Week 14, fantasy managers are faced with critical decisions as this is the final week of the regular season in most fantasy leagues. Making the right start/sit decisions will be key.
Let's check in on the injury status for a key Los Angeles Rams running back and his outlook for the Week 14 Monday Night Football game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Is Darrell Henderson playing this week, or is he still injured? Should I start Darrell Henderson if he plays? Let's take a look at how the Rams situation is shaking out.
Is Darrell Henderson Jr. Playing In Week 14 Against the Cardinals?
Darrell Henderson did not play in Week 13 due to a thigh injury, although he was active for the game. He was limited in practice this week due to the same injury, and was questionable to play, but on Saturday Henderson was placed on the COVID-19 list and will not be available for the Week 14 game versus the Cardinals:
This is an update to the original reports on Henderson's status below, based on additional news reported later in the week.
Darrell Williams Week 14 Injury Updates
Darrell Henderson Jr. did not play last week in Week 13, and has been limited this week in practice as well. While he is generally trending towards playing, and many are expecting for him to return this week, it is not guaranteed:
Once again, it will be interesting to see how the Rams handle Henderson this week, and whether they will give him more time to rest up. This is a tough matchup against a division rival, so the Rams will want all hands on deck, likely pointing towards Henderson at least trying to play and get a decent amount of the RB touches. But if he plays, how much volume will he get compared to an emerging Sony Michel? There are other factors to consider as well.
Should I Start Darrell Henderson In Week 14 Against the Cardinals?
This is a tricky situation to deal with since the Rams play on Monday Night Football. It's also a bit concerning for Henderson managers that Michel had a strong game last week, and the Rams signed running back Makhi Sargent off the practice squad this week:
This usually would signal that one of the regular running backs will be unavailable, or has a decent chance of not playing much. In addition, Sean McVay seems to be implying Michel will be more involved going forward and sees room for both running backs to be involved -- a different tune than earlier in the season when Henderson was the featured running back:
If Henderson is on your fantasy roster, you likely won't have many fall-back options for a Monday Night Football game unless you are also rostering Michel. If you have other viable options available on your roster, it may be best to avoid starting Henderson this week. But and it's certainly understandable to start Henderson and hope for a low-end RB2/FLEX performance this week. Just be prepared for a range of outcomes -- anything from a low amount of touches, and little fantasy production, to a strong performance on Monday Night Football. We will know more about his injury status as we get closer to the game, so check beck for updates.
