MLB Starting Pitcher Depth Charts for Fantasy Baseball: Week 7

To see our tiered staff rankings for starting pitchers, head over to our fantasy baseball rankings dashboard. You can easily filter and export all sorts of rankings and tiers - mixed leagues, points leagues, top prospects, and more!

Starting pitchers get you 40% of the key stats in 5x5 leagues, and are sometimes even more important in H2H and points leagues.  Our starting pitcher depth charts have a special fantasy baseball focus, to let you know which pitchers are worth owning and which aren't. MLB teams make in-season changes due to injuries or poor performance all the time, so stay on top of all MLB starting pitcher depth charts for the AL and NL, and dominate in pitching this year.

We will be updating the MLB Starting Pitcher Depth Charts for Fantasy Baseball all season long. Below you'll find our Week 7 depth charts.

Week 7 MLB Starting Pitcher Depth Charts for Fantasy Baseball

The prospect wheel has started to turn ever so slightly for some rotations throughout the MLB. The Tigers called up highly-touted prospect and former trade piece Daniel Norris into the bullpen. With the current struggles at the back end of the Tigers rotation, it can't take too many impressive showings from Norris to end up in the Detroit rotation.

The Yankees are desperately clinging to the lower rung of their prospect chain among struggles and injuries to their pitching staff in the form of Chad Green. Jon Gray has seriously upped his performance so much so that he has jumped up a level in our depth chart tiers.

When the Rockies tout a solid starter, it merits attention. Also, remember when Dylan Bundy was the most highly coveted and anticipated prospect in all of baseball? Well this season in the loaded Oriole bullpen Bundy has boasted a 2.03 ERA, 3.60 FIP, and hasn't allowed a HR yet this season in 13.1 IP. With Ubaldo Jimenez and Mike Wright producing ERA of 4.87 and 5.20, it isn't hard to imagine Bundy making the leap from the bullpen to the rotation at some point this season in the competitive AL East that Baltimore currently tops.

In other news, J.A. Happ looks to be for real. Happ is an annual waiver wire streamer but this season with Toronto Happ seems to have reached a gear once unknown to him, which is why he has jumped up in tier from a streamer to a solid starter. The Angels have had an atrocious pitching game this year, however, current reports state that they are close to signing a deal with Tim Lincecum. If the Freak was to land anywhere but San Francisco, Anaheim is about as good as it gets in terms of the pitcher-friendly confines of the park.

Besides once again recognizing the struggling aces such as Gray, Keuchel, Greinke, and King Felix; it is very encouraging to see that Phillies prospect Jake Thompson is currently mowing through batters at Triple-A. Besides two bad starts early this season Thompson has been great, having only allowed five walks, eleven hits, and one earned run in his last three starts (19 IP).

We knew it was going to happen didn't we? Teams are getting bad results and bad luck from injuries, they are starting to panic, and the prospect pipeline is starting to shuffle the deck. Don't get discombobulated by the fast pace of player and tier movement. Keep your poker face and keep familiarizing yourself with the depth charts of every MLB rotation every week right here.
