Welcome back, RotoBallers, to my PGA DFS Pivots for DraftKings! This week, the PGA event is The BMW Championship.
Congratulations to Will Zalatoris for finally breaking through and winning the first playoff event last week in Memphis. The 70 tour players that remain (outside of Cam Smith) now arrive in Delaware for The BMW Championship.
With only 70 players in the field, there will not be a cut. When the cut is taken out of the equation it may be best to be more aggressive in contrarian lineups. Here are some DFS pivots and sleepers that might help you be contrarian this week.

The BMW Championship - DFS Lineup Pivots
Will Zalatoris ($10,000)- Tony Finau was in a similar spot to Will Zalatoris at The 3M Open. Finau was coming off a win and there may have been some recency bias the next week at The Rocket Mortgage Classic. Zalatrois is currently projected to be one of the lowest owned golfers in the 9K and above range. There is no reason for this. We have seen golfers go on runs in the playoffs and win multiple events. Zalatoris low-owned for his price range and may be too good to pass up. Last week in Memphis he gained 7.7 strokes on approach and 9.4 strokes tee-to-green. Don’t overlook Zalatoris this week.
Matthew Fitzpatrick ($9,500)- Matthew Fitzpatrick is another surprising golfer who is projected to be low-owned. Fitzpatrick had a sneaky good tournament in Memphis. He backdoored a top five and gained strokes in every key metric last week. Why he might be low owned is beyond me. It has been over a year since Fitzpatrick has lost strokes on approach. Over the last 50 rounds, he also ranks 12th in strokes gained off-the-tee. In a small field, a low owned Fitzpatrick has the chance for us to find some leverage.

Viktor Hovland ($9,200)- Currently projected near 10% owned is Viktor Hovland. Hovland has struggled some in the late spring and early summer. However, he seemed to turn his game around at The Open. Hovland finished in fourth place that week. Hovland returned to action last week at The FedEx St. Jude. He finished in 20th place, gaining strokes in all key metrics outside strokes gained around the green. Hovland is one of the better ball strikers on tour and getting him low-owned in a small field is too good to pass up.
Russel Henley ($7,800)- Sometimes when individuals play DFS, they can get too emotional. This seemed to happen with Russel Henley’s missed cut last week in Memphis. Henley was a highly touted and owned golfer who let down many. That is likely leading to a very deflated ownership number. This is a great time to capitalize on Henley. Over the last 24 rounds, Henley ranks first on approach and eighth in ball striking.
Tom Hoge ($6,300)- I was high on Hoge last week and he missed the cut in Memphis. I am going right back to him this week. He provides nice salary relief and has shown flashes of his upside this year. He won at Pebble Beach in February and finished in fourth place two starts ago at The 3M. Over the last 24 rounds he ranks 26th on approach.
