Hello RotoBallers, my name is Rob Giltner and in this article, you will find my top PGA DFS Pivots for DraftKings and the Farmers Insurance Open. I am excited to join RotoBaller and assist in any way possible to help make us all some money in DFS!
Pivoting can be easily defined as shifting from a highly owned golfer to a less owned golfer at a similar price point. Pivoting helps create leverage in DFS. Leverage allows us to gain an advantage over the field in GPPs. This Leverage increases our chances to win a tournament. In GPP DFS, we are competing with, at times thousands of other entries. Pivoting and creating leverage helps separate ourselves from these other entries.
The separation allows us to maximize our chances of winning a GPP. An example of this would be if golfer A is $9,000 and 30% owned, and golfer B is $8,900 and 10% -- we could pivot off golfer A and go to golfer B for the leverage. Farmers Insurance Open: DFS Lineup Pivots
Pivot off Xander Schauffele ($10,100) to Daniel Berger ($10,000)
Xander Schauffele finished second in last year’s edition of The Farmers Insurance Open. Schauffele excelled tee-to-green that week gaining 6.2 strokes. The 28-year-old San Diego native is very familiar with Torrey Pines, and his love for the course is well documented. Unfortunately for Schauffele backers, these factors are driving up his projected ownership. Schauffele is currently projected to be in the top 5 of highest-owned golfers this week. While he is likely to play well, we may want to pivot off him and gain leverage if he happens to have an off week.
Daniel Berger is an ideal pivot off Schauffele. Berger returns to Torrey Pines after two straight missed cuts in this event. However, he did finish in seventh-place at the U.S. Open here last year. Berger has also started the year off in good form. At Kapalua, Berger finished fifth gaining 6.4 strokes on approach. He is also a Poa specialist and should fit right in at Torrey. Over the last 24 rounds, Berger ranks 3rd tee-to-green, 2nd in ball striking, and first on approach. Elite-level strokes gained data from a golfer possibly flying under the radar.

Pivot Off Aaron Wise ($7,500) to Brandt Snedeker ($7,400)
Aaron Wise had an excellent fall swing. Wise made all his cuts in the fall and had two top 10 finishes. While Wise has become more popular across the industry, his pricing this week does not reflect that. Wise’s low price may create more popularity and that could drive his ownership up. At $7500, Wise looks to be one of the highest owned golfers in his price range.
With so many talented golfers in the field, a stars and scrubs approach may be popular. After selecting two stars, an individual may scroll down to this price range for their third or fourth selection. This rostering method makes the $7000 range very important. A simple pivot to a less owned golfer, at a similar price point, can create massive leverage.
