Welcome back, RotoBallers, to my PGA DFS Pivots for DraftKings! This week, the PGA event is The FedEx St. Jude.
The first playoff event this year has a star-studded field. Over the next few weeks the fields will shrink as only the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup rankings make it to the Tour Championship.
With the field so talented, it provides an opportunity to roster golfers that may not be low-owned in an average event. Below are my top DFS pivots and sleepers.
The FedEx St. Jude - DFS Lineup Pivots
Cameron Smith ($10,500)
The champion golfer of the year looks to be headed to The LIV Tour after the Tour Championship. This may be why the second-ranked golfer in the world is going under-owned.
Smith is currently projected to be one of the lowest-owned golfers in his price. range. Smith had an incredible ball-striking performance at The Open. He combined that form with a hot putter to beat Cam Young and Rory Mcllroy. Smith has shown that he should be considered a top-five player in the world.
This creates more confusion as to why he is projected to be low-owned. He also has a good history at this event. Last year, Smith finished in fifth place and had a chance to win. Cameron Smith, with possible leverage, is just too lucrative to pass up.
Jordan Spieth ($9,100)
Jordan Spieth projected ownership is another surprise. When Spieth gives us opportunities for leverage over the field, I like to try and capitalize. Spieth has played well at TPC Southwind.
He has recorded three top 15s in his last five starts. He is also coming into the first playoff event in good form. He has two top 10 place finishes in as many starts. When Spieth is low-owned, his ceiling makes him a great GPP option.

Keith Mitchell ($7,400)
Is currently projected to be in the single digits ownership-wise. Over his last 24 rounds, Mitchell ranks third in strokes gained off-the-tee. I believe his off-the-tee game will be vital this week at TPC Southwind.
Mitchell has also been excellent tee-to-green. He has gained strokes in that metric in five straight events. Combined with ranking 23rd in putting over the last 23 rounds, I expect Mitchell to be near the top of the leaderboard Sunday.
J.T. Poston ($7,300)
J.T. Poston has had a strong summer on tour. After finishing second at The Travelers he won The John Deere in impressive fashion. He gained 13.4 strokes tee-to-green that week with 4.7 on approach.
While he missed the cut at The Open, he responded nicely playing well in his next two starts. Finally, Poston also ranks 18th in DraftKings points
