Welcome back, RotoBallers, to my PGA DFS Pivots for DraftKings! This week, the PGA event is The John Deere Classic.
The tour returns to TPC Deere Run for The John Deere Classic. While the JDC never really brings a stellar field, this year's edition may be an even weaker field with some top names withdrawing.
However, a weak field gives us some opportunities to be different in DFS.

The John Deere Classic - DFS Lineup Pivots
Christian Bezuidenhout ($9,100)
Christian Bezuidenhout is currently projected to be the lowest owned in the 9k range and above. His low ownership could be due to his recent form. In his last start off a month lay off he missed the cut at The Travelers Championship. However, before his break he recorded two top 15 place finishes in his past three starts. Bezuidenhout is a great pivot candidate because of how he may fit at TPC Deere Run. Bezuidenhout is consistent off-the-tee and an excellent putter. Before his last start, he had not lost strokes tee-to-green in seven starts. I expect that he shook off the rust in his last start and he may contend at low ownership this week.
Adam Schenk ($7,700)
Currently projected around 10%, Adam Schenk is an appealing play this week. While he missed the cut at The Travelers last week, he has been in good form otherwise. He has gained strokes tee-to-green and on approach in three straight events. Schenk also had strong showings recently at top-tier events. He recorded two top 30 place finishes at The Memorial and U.S. Open. Lastly, Schenk has recorded two top 10s in his last two starts at this event.

Emiliano Grillo ($7,500)
Emiliano Grillo is currently projected to be in the low single digits ownership-wise. He missed the cut last week at The Travelers, losing strokes in every key metric outside of off-the-tee. TPC Deere Run has tight tree-lined fairways and playing well off-the-tee is a must. Grillo ranks sixth in the field in strokes gained off-the-tee over his last 24 rounds. Before his start last week, he had also gained strokes tee-to-green in five straight starts. While he is well known for his putting struggles, I expect him to surprise many this week.
Austin Smotherman ($7,000)
Austin Smotherman is another golfer who is coming into this event off a missed cut. However, Smotherman has gained strokes tee-to-green in four out of his last five events. He also has gained strokes off-the-tee in five straight events. Smotherman is also known as a great ball striker. He ranks fifth in the field in ball striking over the last 24 rounds. At single-digit ownership, Smotherman could be a great play this week.
