Aaron Hicks Injured In Game 1
6 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks (hamstring) left the game early on Friday in Game 1 of the American League Division Series against the Red Sox with right hamstring tightness. The Yankees continue to evaluate him. Hicks dealt with hamstring issues to close out the regular season, so this could be an aggravation of that, which could keep him out for the rest of this series and the ALCS if they Yankees advance. Hicks had a hit and a walk in two plate appearances before leaving the game. If his injury is serious enough, expect Brett Gardner to take Hicks' starting spot in the outfield moving forward. It'd be a blow to New York's offense in the series against Boston.

Aaron Hicks Removed From Tuesday's Game
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks (shin) was removed from Tuesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds after fouling a ball off his right shin. He could not put pressure on his leg and hobbled off the field. The 32-year-old went 0-for-1 before exiting. He was replaced in the game by Marwin Gonzalez. The severity of Hicks' injury is unknown and is considered day-to-day. He will undergo further evaluation after the game, and the team will provide an update after the game. Heading into Tuesday's game, Hicks had collected a hit in five of his last six games. Gonzalez would see an uptick in playing if Hick is forced to miss any time.

Aaron Hicks Retreats To The Bench On Thursday
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against right-hander Luis Garcia and the Houston Astros. Aaron Judge, Joey Gallo and Giancarlo Stanton will be covering the outfield for the game. Hicks has been scuffling at the plate lately, recording just one hit over his last 18 at-bats. The 32-year-old has appeared in 66 games this year and he's slashing .218/.338/.284 with three home runs, seven stolen bases, 18 RBI and 24 runs. He should remain on waivers in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues at this point.
