Adam Hadwin's Cuts Made Streak Ends in Complete Combustion
7 years agoAdam Hadwin came into the week tied with Dustin Johnson for the most consecutive cuts made on tour, but it didn't take long into Thursday's round to realize that Hadwin was not going to be extending his streak from 19 to 20 in a row. Hadwin made a complete mess of his opening-round, shooting a 13-over par 83. He followed up Friday with a mediocre five-over 75, but the damage had already taken its toll from Thursday's colossal meltdown. Hadwin was always considered to be too short off of the tee for Shinnecock Hills, which was exemplified by his meager 283.7-yard driving distance average during the U.S. Open, but Hadwin's complete lack of control in the other facets of his game was a bit surprising. Luckily for Hadwin, he will get a chance to start a new cut streak this weekend at TPC River Highlands. Hadwin posted a T57 showing last year during the Travelers Championship but failed to make the cut in his previous two appearances.
