Adam Ottavino Has Been Unhittable

6 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Adam Ottavino has had a roller coaster ride over the last few years, but that was then. This is now, and Ottavino is currently the best reliever in the game. How long his run of dominance can continue depends on how quickly hitters adjust, but for now, Ottavino is untouchable. The reason has to do with the whiffle-ball slider he throws, but it's more due to when he's throwing it. Jeff Sullivan over at FanGraphs goes more into detail about it, but basically, Ottavino is winning the mental game of baseball at the moment. He may not get saves, but his 22/1 K/BB ratio in just 10 2/3 innings is worth a roster spot in every league.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
