6 years agoAfter failing to go six innings in any of his first three starts, Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ben Lively recorded a quality start in Friday night’s close victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 26-year-old went six innings, surrendering just one run on five hits while walking three batters and striking out four. Through the first five innings of the game, this was a scoreless pitcher's duel, but Lively blinked first by conceding the first run of the game. In the bottom of the sixth, the offense tied the game, but with 96 pitches under his belt, Lively was pulled. The Phillies would go on to win 2-1, moving to 12-7 on the season.--RDelgado
