Cody Bellinger Comes Up Big In Victory
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger played the role of hero in Saturday's victory versus the Chicago Cubs. Bellinger had a scheduled day off, but it didn't last long with him entering the ballgame as part of a double switch in the top of the seventh inning. Bellinger would fly out in his first at-bat, but then he would come through with a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. It was a good sign to see Bellinger go yard with him struggling and looking rusty at the plate. Bellinger has been active in 20 games this season and is hitting .225 with two home runs and 11 RBI. Managers haven't seen the production they imagined getting from Bellinger, but health has played a huge role in that and hopefully Bellinger can build off of Saturday's performance in a matchup versus Adbert Alzolay on Sunday.
