6 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays have signed catcher Curt Casali to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. He is a possibility for being part of the backup plan if Wilson Ramos gets hurt again. Casali is a one-category player as he does have a little bit of power. Casali only had nine at-bats last season but hit 18 home runs between 2015 and 2016 in 327 at-bats. His .199 career batting average is a major concern if you are considering picking him up. Unless he gains the starting job (which likely will require some injuries), he should be avoided in the vast majority of leagues.--Jamie Mellor
