Damian Lillard Unlikely To Play Again This Season
5 years agoPortland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard said that he won't play again this season if the Blazers don't have a shot at the playoffs. He doesn't want to play in meaningless games if the NBA returns with only a few games before starting the postseason. The Blazers are currently 3.5 games back of the 8th seed. The NBA has not revealed what they plan to do when the season does hopefully resume. However, it sounds like Lillard won't be taking part in it if the Blazers don't have a shot at the playoffs.

Damian Lillard Agrees To Hefty Extension
3 years agoPortland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard agreed to a two-year, $122 million contract extension, potentially keeping him on the roster through the 2026-27 campaign. The multi-time All-Star has been an MVP-caliber player, averaging 24.6 points, 6.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.0 steals while shooting 37.3% from deep throughout his career. He missed 53 games last season due to abdominal surgery. However, Lillard feels the time off did his body and mind some good, so he should be back to full strength (or close to it) by training camp. Nonetheless, the injury may cause the 31-year-old to slide during fantasy drafts. But as long as he stays healthy, he will remain one of the most potent fantasy options on the planet.

Blazers Expected To Offer Damian Lillard Two-Year Extension
3 years agoThe Portland Trail Blazers are expected to offer star point guard Damian Lillard a two-year contract extension that is worth more than $100 million, according to sources of Bleacher Report. Lillard is currently signed on through the 2023-24 season with a player option for 2024-25. If he were to agree to a two-year extension, he'd be under team control through 2025-26. The team's recent acquisition of veteran forward Jerami Grant has helped improve the franchise's standing with Lillard. The Blazers now look to be in better shape to compete this coming year and the franchise will most certainly be using that fact as leverage to land the extension.

Damian Lillard Not On Track To Play Again This Year
3 years agoPortland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard (abdominal) is not expected to take the floor again in 2021-22 after having previously undergone abdominal surgery back in January. There had initially been optimism that Lillard could return at the conclusion of the year, but Portland has taken its roster in a different direction, which has allowed their franchise star time to heal up. Across 29 games this year, Lillard averaged 24 points, 7.3 assists, and 4.1 rebounds, all while shooting a career-low 32.4 percent from deep. Anfernee Simons (quad) had enjoyed a breakout campaign in Lillard's absence, but injuries have set him back as well. For now, Brandon Williams figures to continue getting sizable run, while Josh Hart operates as the team's primary scoring option most nights.

Damian Lillard Out At Least Two More Weeks
3 years agoPortland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard (abdominal) will be re-evaluated in two or three weeks. He underwent surgery in January to address a lingering abdominal issue. It sounds like the All-Star guard is making progress, but will still be sidelined for a few more weeks. Possibly, Lillard is able to return in time to make an impact in the fantasy playoffs. Until then, Anfernee Simons has been running point guard and is a must-have fantasy player.
