6 years agoThe Minnesota Timberwolves have acquired forward Dario Saric from the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers were never seriously mentioned in the Jimmy Butler sweepstakes, so this move is pretty surprising. It will be interesting to see how Minnesota coach Tom Thibodeau uses Saric going forward, but it is likely that he will slide right into the starting lineup for the Timberwolves. Current starting power forward Taj Gibson is one of Thibodeau's favorite players, but Saric is a supremely talented basketball player, and it would be shocking if he didn't carve out the eventual starting role. Saric had been struggling for much of the season but had turned it around in the previous three games before the trade was announced today. This is an excellent opportunity for Saric to have a fresh start, and he is worth grabbing in any league that he is currently on the waiver wire.
