Denny Hamlin Finishes A Distant Fourth At Phoenix

3 years agoJoe Gibbs Racing's Denny Hamlin was never a factor and finished in the fourth position in Sunday's Season Finale 500 at Phoenix Raceway. Hamlin won this event in 2019 when it was the penultimate race of the season, but the No. 11 team could never make any gains on his competition, and Hamlin failed to lead a single lap in the race. Hamlin came into the title race with more wins than the other three championship drivers, but unfortunately continued the narrative of not being able to perform in championship moments. In fact, Hamlin struggled during the playoffs, only scoring four top-10 finishes. Hamlin's first championship will have to wait until 2021.--John Pitucci - RotoBaller
