Dustin Pedroia Could Start Rehab Assignment This Weekend

5 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) could start another rehab assignment this weekend. Pedroia was pulled off his rehab assignment with Double-A Portland after continued knee soreness, but tests confirmed there is no structural damage. The veteran second baseman has played in only nine games this year and missed basically the entire 2018 season as well, so there's little hope that he'll return to his glory days, even in the remote event that he returns and sees regular playing time. It's a long shot that Pedroia will be a fantasy asset in 2019, especially with Michael Chavis seizing the second base duties with his bat.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
