Eloy Jimenez To Sit First Game Of Doubleheader
3 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (ankle) is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. The 25-year-old has a sore left ankle, but he hit in the cages and ran on Wednesday morning, so he could be available to pinch hit. "It's more than just the bruise, there's some swelling," manager Tony La Russa said. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned, but Jimenez could miss both games of the doubleheader. Gavin Sheets will serve as the designated hitter and bat cleanup versus righty Shane Bieber in Game 1. It's a favorable spot in the order for Sheets, but Bieber is never an easy pitcher to hit.
