5 years agoTampa Bay Rays closer Emilio Pagan blew his seventh save of the season against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday, although he managed to get the win after the Rays walked it off in the ninth. Pagan entered the game in the top of the ninth with the Rays ahead 5-3 before letting up a solo home run and a two-RBI triple to tie the game. It was the first time all season Pagan let up more than two earned runs in an appearance, and the outing brings his ERA up to 2.35. His track record in save situations has been up-and-down all season, although he had converted on his last seven before Wednesday. However, he will still be seeing the bulk of these situations going forward.--Manley Michael
