3 years agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Felix Bautista recorded the final out in Tuesday's 5-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals to earn his first save of the year. Dillon Tate first entered the game in the ninth inning with a 5-2 lead. He allowed a solo home run to Brendan Donovan to start the inning. He then allowed two of the next four batters to reach base before he was replaced in the game by Bautista. Bautista struck out Tyler O'Neill to end the game. The team's primary closer Jorge Lopez was placed on the bereavement list before the game. Tate has had a great year with a 2.45 ERA and 0.82 WHIP. He converted his first save opportunity this past weekend. He should be considered the next man up behind Lopez at this point, but Bautista, who has a solid 2.13 ERA and 1.11 WHIP himself, could be next after Tate.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
