6 years agoThe Carolina Panthers cut backup quarterback Garrett Gilbert among many moves to trim their roster down to 53 players this weekend. Gilbert was the front-runner to be the backup to Cam Newton, but he lost out on the gig to Taylor Heinicke. Heinicke's experience in offensive coordinator Norv Turner's scheme in Minnesota likely gave him the edge.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
