German Marquez Loses To The Rangers On Monday
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez took the loss on Monday when he surrendered four runs on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts across six innings in a 4-3 loss to the Texas Rangers. Marquez was victimized by the long ball on Sunday, giving up three of them, which accounted for all the runs against him. DJ Peters got him in the bottom of the fourth inning with a solo shot, Leody Taveras added his own in the fifth, and Nick Solak swatted a two-run bomb in the sixth inning. The Rockies were never able to retake the lead so he took his ninth loss of the season. The outing raised his ERA to 4.10 with a 1.21 WHIP, and a 156:54 K/BB ratio over 156 innings (27 starts). He's got a tough matchup in his next start when the Braves visit Coors Field this weekend.
