Griffin Canning To Make Debut On Tuesday

5 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Griffin Canning will come up to make his major league debut against the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Canning, the club's No. 2 prospect and No. 60 overall per MLB Pipeline, is currently 1-0 with an amazing 0.56 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 9.6 K/9 in three starts (16 innings) for Triple-A Salt Lake. It's unclear if he'll stick around for a while in the Halos rotation, but the 22-year-old right-hander obviously has notable upside. The matchup is a nice one, but Canning will be a risky streaming option initially in deeper leagues. If he's available in your dynasty, AL-only or deep mixed league, he's worth picking up.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
