Jalen Duren Off To A Strong Start In Summer League
2 years agoDetroit Pistons rookie center Jalen Duren turned in a strong performance in his second Summer League game against the Washington Wizards on Sunday. He played 26 minutes and racked up 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks while shooting 4-for-5 from the field and 5-for-7 from the free throw line. He only played 11 minutes in the team's first Summer League game, but was also efficient and productive in that brief outing, shooting 4-for-6 from the field while blocking two shots. The biggest negative thus far has been his foul trouble as he's been called for a total of eight personal fouls over his two games. However, the shot-blocking skills and offensive finishing abilities certainly appear to be there. His minutes may vary a bit this season as he'll have competition in the middle from Marvin Bagley III, Isaiah Stewart and Kelly Olynyk. If he can find a steady 20-25 minutes per game, he could be a solid source of blocks and boards for fantasy managers.
