Jarred Kelenic, Julio Rodriguez Could Serve On Taxi Squad

4 years agoSeattle Mariners CEO John Stanton said that he expects young prospects like outfielders Jarred Kelenic and Julio Rodriguez, catcher Cal Raleigh and pitchers Logan Gilbert and George Kirby to be on the 30-man taxi squad for the shortened 2020 season. Even this year's first-round pick, Emerson Hancock, has a shot. Kelenic and Rodriguez are one and two, respectively, on the team's top prospect list, while Gilbert comes in at No. 3, Kirby at No. 5 and Raleigh at No. 8, per MLB Pipeline. Kelenic and Rodriguez are solid dynasty/keeper stashes for their future upside, but it's unlikely that any of these top prospects for the Mariners will see extended playing time, if any, this season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
