7 years agoJason Day finished in a tie for ninth during the 2017 PGA Championship held at Quail Hollow. While a top-10 finish at a major is never anything to sneeze at, some results still sting slightly more than others. Having just bogeyed the 17th hole during his Saturday round, Day entered the par-four 18th hole only three strokes back of the leader Kevin Kisner. What happened next can only be described as "a train wreck of epic proportions." Day's drive was pulled far to the right, landing on pine straw right behind a tree. Day should have punched out to the fairway and played for a bogey finish but instead risked it all on an impossible shot that needed to hook around a tree. The gamble, unfortunately, ended in disaster. Day's ball landed in a bush, resulting in an unplayable play and requiring a one-stroke penalty. When it was all said and done, Day posted a mind-blowing quadruple-bogey eight. It will be interesting to see how Day reacts the first time he has to play hole 18 again. Always entertaining, Day makes for an even more exciting player to keep an eye out for this week in his return to Quail Hollow.--Spencer Aguiar - RotoBaller
