5 years agoIt's not a lock that New York Mets third baseman Jed Lowrie (knee) will return from the injured list on Friday. Team officials are still discussing whether Lowrie is ready or if he'll benefit from more rehab games. At worst, Lowrie will probably return early next week. The 35-year-old switch-hitter has just two hits in his 23 at-bats between Triple-A Syracuse and High-A St. Lucie, so perhaps he needs to play in a few more games. Either way, he's set to make his debut with the team soon, where he'll play third base most often. With Lowrie back, it'll be bad news for Todd Frazier and J.D. Davis.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
