Jesus Luzardo, A.J. Puk Making Progress

5 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitchers Jesus Luzardo (shoulder) and A.J. Puk (elbow) are both making progress from their injuries. Luzardo threw his first bullpen session on Tuesday. Puk threw a simulated game earlier this week. Both left-handed starters are pitching prospects in the Oakland system that could help out the team's starting rotation in the second half of the season. With plenty of upside, they can both help those in mixed leagues immediately if they're fully healthy. Luzardo is ranked as the team's top prospect, with Puk as No. 2. Luzardo is ranked No. 16 overall and is the second best left-handed prospect in baseball, while Puk is No. 38 overall and No. 4 among southpaws.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
