Joe Flacco Expected To Be Ready By Mid-September
5 years agoNew York Jets quarterback Joe Flacco (neck) has resumed throwing, but is not expected to be ready to play until the middle of September. He started the first eight games for the Denver Broncos last season before going down with a neck injury. It's uncertain at the moment if Flacco will be ready to play by Week 1 of the regular season. Quarterback David Fales or fourth-round pick James Morgan could be asked to back up Sam Darnold to begin the season. More information on Flacco's injury should be known closer to the start of the season.

Joe Flacco To Get The Nod Again In Week 2
2 years agoThe New York Jets have confirmed that they will give another start to veteran quarterback Joe Flacco. The 37-year-old went 37-of-59 for 309 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in their Week 1 loss against the Ravens. His performance appears to have been good enough to earn him at least one more opportunity, although the team seems willing to pivot to another option if he has a poor outing. The Jets will face a stout Browns defense in Week 2, meaning Flacco will likely struggle again. He is not on the radar for fantasy football this week, even in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.

Joe Flacco Likely To Start In Week 2
3 years agoNew York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said it's "more than likely going to be Joe" for the Week 2 game against the Cleveland Browns, although the quarterback position is always under review. Veteran Joe Flacco completed 37 of his whopping 59 pass attempts for 307 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Second-year signal-caller Zach Wilson continues to rehab from a knee injury, and he's unlikely to be ready for Week 2. The Jets could very well find themselves in negative game script against the Browns this weekend, but fantasy managers can't rely on that much volume again from the 37-year-old Flacco. He'll once again check in as a low-end, desperation QB2 in superflex leagues if he makes another start.

Joe Flacco Throws 59 Times In Week 1
3 years agoNew York Jets quarterback Joe Flacco attempted 59 passes in a Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He completed 37 of those for 309 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He was also credited with a rushing attempt, but gained 0 yards. Flacco was pressured on seemingly every single snap, which led him to throw off his back foot on most of his passes and to miss wide open receivers multiple times. Flacco threw to his running backs 19 times and made sure that the Jets will go back to Zach Wilson (knee) as soon as he's ready.

Joe Flacco To Start In Week 1
3 years agoNew York Jets quarterback Joe Flacco will start in Week 1 on Sunday against his former team, the Baltimore Ravens, according to sources. Regular starter Zach Wilson (knee) is progressing well, but he's not quite ready to return. With Wilson not available until Week 4, the Jets will roll with the 37-year-old Flacco until then. Flacco received positive reports in training camp this summer, and he'll have an upgraded receiving corps to work with, including Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, rookie Garrett Wilson and Braxton Berrios. At best, though, Flacco will be a low-end QB2 play for those desperate in superflex leagues, and his presence under center should lower the Jets receiving weapons' fantasy ceiling early on.
