6 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto gave up five runs on 10 hits and two walks through five innings during Thursday's start against the Cardinals. This was Cueto's first start since April 28 after a long stint on the disabled list, so some rust was to be expected. It also appears to be some bad luck, as the St. Louis bats were hot Thursday. Ty Blach came in and gave up four runs in two-thirds of an inning and Derek Holland came in to finish out the game and gave up two runs as the Giants went on to lose 11-2. That being said, the 10 hits allowed in five innings is alarming for Cueto, who had previously only giving up 16 hits in his last 32 innings. Cueto is still a must-start in all formats moving forward, but unfortunately he faces the Cubs next Tuesday night at home.--Steve McCarthy - RotoBaller
