Jordan Matthews On The Roster Bubble

5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jordan Matthews, along with Richie James, is believed to be on the roster bubble heading into training camp. The team invested second- and third-round picks on receivers Deebo Samuel and Jalen Hurd, respectively. If everything goes as planned, Samuel will join Dante Pettis in the starting lineup immediately, and Hurd will have an evolving role in this offense as well. The 26-year-old Matthews had a career-low 20 receptions for 300 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games for the Eagles last year and really hasn't done much since his sophomore season in Philly in 2015.
