4 years agoSeattle Mariners first baseman José Marmolejos went 3-for-7 with two homers, a double, six RBI and two runs throughout Thursday's doubleheader against the Padres. Marmolejos had been very unproductive for the Mariners heading into this doubleheader batting just .103, but this was definitely an encouraging game for the rookie. Seattle's everyday first baseman Evan White left the first game of the doubleheader with an injury, so Marmolejos could be in line for more playing time. It is definitely not the time to pick up Marmolejos, but he has flashed a decent amount of power in the minors and could be worth monitoring if he continues to hit.--Steve McCarthy - RotoBaller
