Luis Rengifo In Camp

4 years agoLos Angeles Angels infielder Luis Rengifo joined the team on Wednesday after being one of the players absent from summer camp due to undisclosed reasons. Others still on the injured list include Julio Teheran, Jose Suarez, Jose Quijada and Dillon Peters. Rengifo, 23, made his major league debut in 2019 and slashed .238/.321/.364 with seven home runs, 33 RBI, 44 runs scored and two stolen bases in 108 games for the Halos. It's unclear if he'll be ready to go for Opening Day next Friday, but even if Rengifo is on the Opening Day roster, he's merely middle infield depth for the Angels and shouldn't be anything more than middle infield depth in deep AL-only affairs.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
