6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter is out of the lineup for the Cardinals' Sunday night matchup against the Cubs. It is just a day off to rest up for a veteran who desperately needs it. Carpenter is batting .165 this season, posting the highest strikeout rate of his career at 26.2%. Though he is off to a terrible start, he is still getting on base at a .320 clip and his .203 BABIP suggests that his average should be on the rise. With that said, he is nearing replacement level in categories leagues, but is still a hold in points leagues to see if he can figure it out soon.--Steve McCarthy - RotoBaller
