Mavericks Trade Into Second Round To Draft Jaden Hardy
3 years agoThe Dallas Mavericks entered the 2022 NBA draft without a single selection. However, they wound up trading into the second round, sending the Sacramento Kings a pair of future second rounders for the 37th overall pick in the draft. The team used the pick to draft guard Jaden Hardy of the NBA G-League Ignite. About a year ago, Hardy was projected to be a top-10 pick in the 2022 NBA draft. Instead, after a disappointing year with the Ignite, he plummeted down draft boards. He shot just 35.1% from the field and 26.9% from three-point range while averaging 17.7 points per game last year. Hardy's landing spot couldn't have been any better for him as he'll be forced to accept a supporting role on Luka Doncic's franchise. Hardy has some tantalizing upside on the offensive end of the court, but he has a lot of work to do to enable him to become a rotational player in the NBA.
