Mike Zunino On Injured List, Austin Meadows Returns

5 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays placed catcher Mike Zunino (quadriceps) on the 10-day injured list on Friday with left quadriceps tightness and called up catcher Anthony Bemboom from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move. Zunino is expected to miss around three weeks. Bemboom, 29, doesn't do much with the bat and will split time with Nick Ciuffo for the time being. You can ignore both backstops in fantasy. Outfielder Austin Meadows (thumb) was also activated from the injured list on Friday and needs to be immediately returned to all fantasy lineups. He was hitting an impressive .351/.422/.676 with six homers, 11 runs, 19 RBI and three steals before his injury.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
