3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas (shoulder) is hoping to be able to return to the mound sometime in May. He dealt with forearm and elbow issues last season which may have led to the shoulder inflammation this season. For a little but, there was a fear that he'd need surgery, but he seems to be improving with rest. He's been throwing long toss and will throw a bullpen session within the next few days. He could then face live hitters and move onto a rehab outing or two within a few weeks. Assuming no further setbacks, he should be able to return in May as hoped, and will slide into the rotation as soon as he's ready.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
