3 years agoThe Orlando Magic selected forward Paolo Banchero out of Duke University first overall in the 2022 NBA draft. The move came as quite a surprise as Auburn's Jabari Smith Jr. had been the primary player linked to the Magic at No. 1 overall going into the draft. Banchero is a bit more well-rounded of a player than Smith. In his sole season at Duke, the 6'10" forward contributed across the board, averaging 17.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while knocking down 33.8% of this three-point attempts. He'll be paired with fellow forward Franz Wagner on the Magic to give the team a nice young frontcourt to build around.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
