Kevin Kisner Has A Home Game This Week
3 years agoSouth Carolina native Kevin Kisner is set to tee it up at Harbour Town this week. Kisner has good course history at this event, highlighted by a second-place finish in 2015. If Kisner is going to contend at Harbour Town he will need to improve his ball striking. Before The Masters, Kisner had lost strokes on approach in three straight tournaments. Returning to a track he has had success at should be a nice respite for Kisner. He is not garnering a lot of ownership and based on his course history he could be a good DFS play. Source: PGA Tour
Danny Willett Hard To Trust At RBC Heritage
3 years agoDespite showing some signs of life at Augusta last week, Danny Willett will be hard to rely on this week in Hilton Head. Last week's 12th place finish was Willett's first top-20 finish since last April, ironically at the RBC Heritage. Despite coming T18 at this event last year, the Englishman has failed to make the cut in his other three starts at Harbour Town. His game is far too inconsistent to depend on right now, gaining strokes on approach in a registered event just once since last June. Source: Fantasy National
Si Woo Kim Has Only One Missed Cut This Season
3 years agoSi Woo Kim's course history at the RBC Heritage is a mixed bag, with two top-20s and two missed cuts in his five appearances here. Kim's last missed cut was in October 2021 at the Shriners Children's Open. He has quietly collected seven top-20s in his 16 starts this season by leaning on his consistency off the tee. The other areas of his game sporadically show up to compliment his driving prowess, resulting in finishes higher up the leaderboard those weeks. He will need at least one aspect of his game to accompany his driving if he seeks another top-20 this week. Source: PGA Tour
Jason Kokrak Needs Putter To Perform This Week
3 years agoJason Kokrak has gained on approach in his last eight starts at Harbour Town but has missed three of his last four cuts courtesy of a disobedient putter. As one of the better putters on tour over the last two years, Kokrak will be looking to buck his poor putting trend at this venue. If his putter obliges, he has the approach play needed to succeed around a golf course that rewards finesse over distance. However, his recent iron play has lost strokes to the field in his last two starts, which will need to change this week if he looks to contend. Source: PGA Tour
Brian Harman A Safe Play
3 years agoWith four top-30s in his last five RBC Heritage starts, Brian Harman is one of the safer plays this week. His lack of distance off the tee will be minimized and his accuracy exaggerated at a shorter Harbour Town Golf Links. Harman has gained over 1.5 strokes putting in his last nine appearances at this venue. His solid course history will be complimented by iron play that has improved immensely in the second half of the 2022 season. Source: PGA Tour
Kevin Na A High-Risk, High-Reward Play
3 years agoKevin Na led the field in strokes gained approach at the Masters. He will be looking to bring his hot irons to an event where he has multiple top-10s and missed cuts since 2011. His boom or bust potential at this golf course makes him a high-risk, high-reward play. After leading the tour in strokes gained around the green last season, Na is currently 135th this season losing in that area in his last three starts. He should be avoided from a safety perspective and embraced from an upside standpoint. Source: PGA Tour
Tommy Fleetwood A Dependable Play
3 years agoTommy Fleetwood looks like a dependable DFS play this week in Hilton Head, SC. The Englishman has a documented history of not being able to win on the PGA Tour, but over the past month he has been a model of consistency. Since the beginning of March, the 31-year-old has finished no worse than 22nd with three top-20 finishes in that stretch. Fleetwood has been good tee to green and his strong around the green game as of late should be important since Harbour Town has the second smallest greens on the PGA Tour. Source: Fantasy National
Matt Kuchar A Course-History Thoroughbred
3 years agoMatt Kuchar has seven top-30s in his last eight starts at the RBC Heritage. Kuchar is typically very efficient with his short game and has yet to lose strokes on approach at this golf course in his last 11 appearances. He not only has great course history on his side, but he has also found some form recently with a T2 and T16 at the Valero Texas Open and Valspar Championship. At an event where course history is a strong predictor of success, Kuchar will have his eyes on a second RBC Heritage win. Source: PGA Tour
Collin Morikawa Looks To Build On Masters Finish
3 years agoCollin Morikawa heads to Hilton Head looking to build on a fifth-place finish at Augusta last week. The two-time major champion went through a mini slump in March where he missed the cut at the players and finished T68 at the Valspar. His top five finish last week indicates he is back on his game. The former California Golden Bear should be good fit for Harbour Town, which is very much a second shot course. Look for Morikawa to dial in his irons and be in the mix on Sunday. The 25-year-old finished T7 at this event a year ago. Source: Fantasy National
Justin Thomas Is Putting Well Lately
3 years agoJustin Thomas clawed himself back from a shaky Masters opening round to finish T8. Thomas now has seven top-10s in his 11 starts this season. For a player of his caliber there always seems to be a sequence of holes that derails his chances of contending for victory, though. Thomas gained over six strokes on approach last week and had another impressive putting week, picking up 3.2 shots on the field. He now heads to Harbour Town where he will be looking to improve on his T8 in 2020 by capitalizing on his exceptional iron play and blossoming putter. Source: PGA Tour
Daniel Berger Looks To Get Back On Track At RBC
3 years agoComing off back-to-back finishes outside the top-30, Daniel Berger will look to get back in the top-20 this week at the RBC Heritage. Berger is no stranger to Harbour Town, making his fourth straight, fifth overall, start at the RBC Heritage. After missing his first cut at the event in 2015, Berger has been on a nice run in the last three installments of the event. Berger has rattled off finishes of 33rd, third, and 13th since 2019, shooting eight of his 12 rounds in that time under 70. Berger will have a high DFS salary, but not top-tier. Berger is currently fourth on tour in strokes gained total, and 22nd in strokes gained on approach. His putting is inside the top-50 on tour, and if he can get off to a good start early on the greens, Berger has the ability to win this week at the RBC Heritage.Source: PGA Tour
Cameron Smith Has The Skills To Win At Harbour Town
3 years agoCameron Smith kept the hot streak going at the Masters after a T3 finish last week. For Smith, it was his second top-three finish at Augusta in the last three Masters. Smith will now take his talents to Harbour Town, and will look to keep the impressive streak going at the RBC Heritage. Smith has had an up-and-down career at Harbour Town, his best career finish came in 2021, with a ninth-place showing. He missed his previous two cuts before that, and only had one finish inside the top-15 in his career before his T9 last season. Smith however does have the skills to do well at Harbour Town. His approach game is eighth-best on the PGA Tour, and his putting is third-best on tour. Smith could add a third win to his PGA Tour season this week, and his DFS salary shows that. Overall, Smith should be a fine play this week in all contests.Source: PGA Tour
Shane Lowry A Good Option At RBC Heritage
3 years agoA T3 finish for Shane Lowry last week at the Masters was a career best for the Irishman. It was also Lowry's fourth top-15 finish in his last five starts. Lowry will keep that good momentum going into the RBC Heritage, a tournament that Lowry has finished inside the top-10 in two of his last three starts. So far this season, Lowry sits inside the top-30 in three of the major strokes gained categories, highlighted by sitting 10th in strokes gained total on tour. In DFS, Lowry did see a salary bump after his impressive Masters showing, but he won't cost top-tier salary this week, but pretty close. Although Lowry is streaky, he should pay off his salary this week, with win potential at Harbour Town. Source: PGA Tour
Patrick Cantlay Looking To Improve Off Last Year's Missed Cut
3 years agoPatrick Cantlay had a surprising missed cut at last year's RBC Heritage. The 30-year-old Californian, has played well at this event in the past. He has two top-five place finishes. Cantlay finished in 39th place at The Masters last weekend. Before last week, he lost strokes on approach in four out of his last five starts. Cantlay must be accurate off-the-tee and on approach to contend this week. Based on his current form and his missed cut last year he may come in lower owned. If Cantlay is under 15% he is a great value option. Source: PGA Tour
Dustin Johnson A Favorite At Harbour Town
3 years agoDustin Johnson arrives in Hilton Head after a 12th-place finish at The Masters. Johnson gained 6.4 strokes total last week but noticeably struggled with the driver. He elected to use his three-wood off a number of holes. With how tight the fairways are this week, Johnsons may not need to use his driver often. He has played this event four times, having four made cuts. His top finish was a 13th-place finish last year. Johnson's biggest weapon is his length which may be mitigated at this course. If he is going to contend this week he must be accurate with his wedges. Source: PGA Tour
