5 years agoLos Angeles Clippers point guard Patrick Beverley will miss Saturday’s contest against the Atlanta Hawks due a sore left calf. His absence will leave the onus on Lou Williams to handle the lion’s share of ball-handling duties with the team severely short-handed with both Kawhi Leonard and Landry Shamet also ruled out. Beverley will miss his second consecutive game, having struggled offensively (career low 35.3 percent from floor overall) to open the season despite having accrued 6.4 rebounds per contest, which puts him on pace for a new career high. His next chance to return to action comes Monday against Oklahoma City.--Jesse Borek
