3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Paul Sewald converted his second save of the season on Monday. He closed out the team's 7-6 victory over the Oakland Athletics, pitching a scoreless ninth inning during which he allowed one hit and recorded one strikeout. Sewald is 2-for-3 on save opportunities on the year with a 2.40 ERA and a 0.53 WHIP. The Mariners have been operating with a frustrating committee approach this season. Sewald is now tied with both Drew Steckenrider and Diego Castillo for the team lead in saves.
