Ryan Zimmerman, Matt Adams Making Progress

5 years agoWashington Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman (foot) took ground balls at first base and hit some batting practice on Friday. The team is hoping he can start running by the end of the weekend. Matt Adams (shoulder) did some light activities on Friday and is hoping to move to batting practice sometime next week. Zimmerman seems to be slightly ahead, but both players could return around the same time, barring setbacks. Zimm and Adams should return to a platoon split at first when they are ready, limiting their usefulness to deeper leagues.
