Taylor Clarke Optioned, Jon Duplantier Recalled

5 years agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks optioned starting pitcher Taylor Clarke to Triple-A Reno on Thursday and recalled pitcher Jon Duplantier from Reno in a corresponding move. The team's No. 10 prospect makes way for Arizona's No. 2 prospect, although Duplantier is expected to work in long relief. With a fifth starter needed Sunday against the Braves, it's possible that Zack Godley is brought back to the rotation. Godley would be one to avoid in that matchup. Clarke allowed seven hits and two earned runs in six innings against the Rays on Tuesday and he should be up again at some point this year. Duplantier has even more upside but won't be fantasy relevant in a relief role.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
