Texans Working On Extension For Deshaun Watson

4 years agoThe Houston Texans are working hard with quarterback Deshaun Watson on a new contract extension, and it's likely to be more in line with Russell Wilson's or Aaron Rodgers' deals as opposed to that of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, according to sources. Mahomes recently received a whopping $500 million extension after winning league MVP in 2018 and Super Bowl MVP honors in 2019. The former Clemson star and 12th overall pick has been a top-five quarterback the last two seasons, but most are down on him this year after he lost his No. 1 receiver in DeAndre Hopkins. But the 24-year-old should still have plenty of opportunities and could even use his legs more this season. While he might not have high-end QB1 upside without Hopkins, Watson is still in the running to be a top-six fantasy signal-caller.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
