Tom Murphy Homers Tuesday
4 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Tom Murphy went 1-for-3 in the first half of a double-header Sunday, with his lone hit being a solo home run in the top of the second inning off Baltimore starting pitcher John Means. It was Murphy's first home run of the season. Murphy has struggled to a .618 OPS over his first 19 at-bats of the year, and could not have come at a better time with Luis Torrens seeming to gain ground on Murphy in terms of playing time. For now, Murphy should only be rostered in two-catcher leagues.
