5 years agoA week after he got 10 carries against the Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers running back Troymaine Pope is likely bound for the bench. The return of Melvin Gordon pushes Pope into the No. 3 slot for this week's game against the Broncos, and the team is expected to balance carries between Austin Ekeler and Gordon for the day. Pope shows some promise and can certainly generate some excitement, but he's just not at the level of those other two. He'll need a rash of injuries to strike the backfield to see regular playing time again this season.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
