TyTy Washington Jr. Drafted 29th Overall
3 years agoWith the penultimate pick of the first round of the 2022 NBA draft, the Memphis Grizzlies selected guard TyTy Washington Jr. However, Washington was directly traded to the Houston Rockets right after the pick was made. He was involved in a trade that sent 26th overall pick Wendell Moore Jr. in the opposite direction. Washington played just one season of college basketball at the University of Kentucky prior to declaring for the NBA. Standing 6'3", Washington is one of the better pure point guards in the 2022 draft class. He averaged 3.9 assists per game last year while committing just 1.6 turnovers per contest. He also added 12.5 points per game while shooting 45.1% from the field. He winds up in a good landing spot as the Rockets are in rebuild mode and known for playing their young players. He could wind up with a spot at the end of the team's rotation at some point this coming season.
