2 years agoUpdating a previous report, Kansas City Royals second baseman Whit Merrifield (toe) may not require a stint on the injured list. Instead, he is being considered day-to-day with a right toe bone bruise. The team will be evaluating his ailment each day going forward. Merrifield's injury comes at a rough time as he'd been swinging the bat well so far this month. Over 10 games in July, he's slashed .333/.415/.611 with two home runs, three stolen bases, four RBI and nine runs.
