6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zack Godley is set to take on the Washington Nationals on Sunday night. After back-to-back incredible seven inning games to start the season, Godley has been less than godly since. In his last five starts, Godley has posted just one quality start. He has also already faced the Nationals this season on April 27th, allowing 10 hits, walked three, allowed four earned runs and only struck out four batters. After an amazing breakout season in 2017, Godley is now striking out 8.33/9 as opposed to 9.58/9 and walking 4.05/9 instead of 3.08/9. He is also allowing a career high BABIP of .325 compared to his .280 in 2017. All of these differences in Godley's underlying numbers make him a very risky start Sunday night against a hot offense, especially in leagues that reward wins as the Arizona offense has been nonexistent as of late. For now, Godley is still a must own and hold, but not a must start until his numbers start to regress back to their norms.--Steve McCarthy - RotoBaller
