One and Done Selections - Charles Schwab Challenge
In this feature, our golf staff of Joe Nicely, Spencer Aguiar, Andrew Putters, Owen Vrabel, Matt Miller and Josh Bennett will provide their weekly golf picks every Wednesday. The purpose of this article is to present you with alternative options to consider and hopefully make your selection a much easier process weekly. With that plan in mind, let's get started!
Joe Nicely - Kevin Na
Alternate - Max Homa
By some crazy twist of fate, I actually managed to gain a little ground in this contest last week with a pedestrian T13 result from Cameron Smith, a man that lipped out more times than can be counted by mathematical formulas.
Since I feel as though I’m on a bit of freeroll following last week’s activities, I’m gonna fire up a dude that I never fire up. Kevin Na has been a mainstay on my personal “Black List” for years, only coming off in moments of desperation or weakness or when I’m feeling particularly frisky. Let’s have a little fun with the light-hitting course horse this week, as he comes in with white-hot irons and excellent form.

Yearly Cuts Made - 14/18
Josh Bennett - Jordan Spieth
Alternate - Abraham Ancer
This should be the most obvious pick of all time. Will be the chalkiest pick in any contest or platform you’ll find and for plenty good reason. Since 2013: a win, three runner-ups, three other top 10’s, a 14th and a 32nd. Honestly, when you see history like that, you really just need to peek quick and make sure they aren’t injured or 80 years old and then just auto-play it if it’s available. So, that’s what I’m doing. Helpful that he’s in really good form, but I really couldn’t care less, the history is PLENTY for me. Pick Jordan and move on!

Spencer Aguiar - Collin Morikawa
Alternate - Abraham Ancer
I will keep this answer short and simple. I am completely fine with anyone that wants to take options like Abraham Ancer, Webb Simpson or Sam Burns, but I am going to go with the golfer in my model that not only graded as the top option for the week but did so because of his statistical combination to mimic Colonial Country Club. My model believes Morikawa is the golfer that should create the most opportunities throughout four days, and while his ability to make them is questionable, his putting from 15-20 feet does place him 14th in this field. With that being a range that will see a two percent increase, give me the best ball-striker in the world, and let's hope for the best.
Yearly Earnings - $6,206,371

Matt Miller - Abraham Ancer

Andrew Putters - Jordan Spieth
Alternate - Kevin Na
If there was a Jordan Spieth home track out in the world, it is Colonial Country Club. Colonial’s layout brings nearly everyone into the competition. This is usually a good thing for Jordan (example…RBC). In the last 5 years Jordan has 4 top 10s. I do not see this year being any different. My only concern is, “will the putting be okay?” This will always be an unknown, but Jordan has major success putting on bentgrass greens. He also performs well and more consistently on courses that he is comfortable playing. Major success here and it will happen again this year.

Owen Vrabel - Webb Simpson
